Psycatron
2010 will see Northern Ireland's Psycatron take things to the next level with a string of high profile productions being released on some of the world's most respected labels. The year began with the Location Unknown EP on Fergie's Rekluse imprint. The lead track 'Takefive' was a huge smash at the Miami Winter Music Conference with everyone from Carl Cox to Sasha (who was closing his sets it with) making it one of the biggest records of the conference and subsequently had the World famous Renaissance label bidding to sign it up.
From Belfast to Detroit is next, with the legendary Carl Craig picking up 'Deeper Shades Of Black' through hearing it on Myspace, for his new Planet E sub-label Guilty Pleasures for a release in June. Then from Detroit to Sao Paolo in Brazil, where Christian Smith's recently relaunched Tronic Music will deliver the devastating soon-to- be-techno-anthem 'Directions' for a July release which is currently being hammered by Dubfire, with John Digweed charting the b-side Tipping Point at Number 6. Directions will also feature remixes later on in the year from Matt Nordstromm and Fergie. A bit closer to home and London based Simple Records will drop the glorious 'Theorie De Ficelle' in July, followed by the tribal monster 'Oglala' on Plastica a month later alongside a remix from man-of-the-moment King Roc.
Having spent the past seven years hosting their residency at Shine and the Stiff Kitten in Belfast where they've supported some of the biggest DJ's on the planet, 2010 will be the year where Psycatron's winning combination of killer DJ sets and productions will see them emerge as one of the biggest Irish acts of the year as their profile continues to grow on a global scale
