Levon Vincent (Novel Sound – New York)
When it comes to house music there’s been something of a renaissance in New York City these past few years, and one of its main advocates is Levon Vincent. Born in Houston, Texas and raised on the East Coast; he now calls Berlin his home.
From a close alliance with the NYC music community bridged via Halcyon records, Levon founded Deconstruct with Antony Parasole as well as his own label Novel Sound. His raw brand of dubbed out beats soon went onto find an audience in scene veterans Craig Richards and Berghain’s Marcel Dettmann and wider love from the scene at large. For the past few years, Novel Sound head-honcho Levon Vincent has been circling the techno-sphere with an air of dominance from his incredible productions. Piledriving kicks, masterful hi-hats and godly melodies, the man has it all. However, his recent self-titled LP shot him into a new world with Pitchfork stamping it with an 8.3 and everyone from Four Tet to Nina Kraviz rinsing its produce.
